Aetna Media Run Videos

The Busted Knuckle Media Run that took place at Aetna Mountain in Tennessee was a great success. We had a record turnout make the ride. The mountains were still covered in about 8-10 inches of snow. This made for a whole lot of throttle slamming high horsepower fun! We started the trip with a big traffic jam due to the icy conditions of the main trail that leads up to the property. We eventually made it to peanut butter hole where a few rigs put on a show for the crowd including one with a 10yr old kid at the wheel. That boy could drive like one of the big guns. Once things died down there we headed over to Runway and saw a great show of these buggies slinging snow all over the place as they attempted these steep rocky climbs. After a few rollovers and some full throttle chaos we headed over to Horsepower Hill and Balls Hill. This is where the show really came to life. There were rollovers left and right. Wes Kean put on a clinic on how to tackle these ice and snow covered climbs. If you didn’t have heavily modified tires your did not have a chance. Bobby Tanner gave it the best effort of the day with multiple rollovers, one of which landed his front tire in the passenger seat of Tim Bacon’s buggy. He never made it up but he was sure fun to watch. I thought Wes Kean was going to fly Tim Cameron’s old Green Goblin buggy up Balls Hill because we already know that thing can defy gravity. He gave some good motor screaming attempts but was unsuccessful. Watching a pro like Wes drive a rental made for some great entertainment for the crowd of people that were gathered at the bottom of the hills. Here are some of the videos we got that will go on the Next RockRods DVD. Big thanks to everyone who came out and put on a show for the cameras! Here are most of the videos, keep checking back as we will be adding more videos.

Also you can check out all of the great photos shot at the event by Ricky B Photography by clicking HERE. Check them out. The prints are available for purchase without the watermark in sizes up to 30×40.

This was the most amazing thing we saw all weekend. Bobby Tanner the driver of the Coleworx Screaming Blue buggy rolls over on balls hill and ends up landing on or in Tim Bacon’s passenger seat! Watch as a 44 inch TSL Bogger tire calls shotgun in Tim Bacon’s buggy.

Wes Kean was one of the only rigs to make it up Horsepower hill. His long wheelbase and narrow width axles make his rig climb like no other.

Darryl Jones hits Balls Hill hard in his Superman Samurai Buggy built by Custom Tint & Offroad. The result is one of the nastiest rolls of the day. His front right coilover couldn’t take the abuse any longer and decided to separate from the axle.

Many of you were wondering who bought Tim Cameron’s Green Goblin buggy for straight cash. Well here is a video. The new owner was playing with it in the snow.

The new owner even let Wes Kean take the wheel and give it a full throttle beatdown on Balls Hill. Wes Kean in a Rental is a win for everyone, and he put on one heck of a show.

The Aetna boys decided to show everyone the proper technique for rolling a buggy back over on a side hill. Wow, why have I never thought of that?

Trenton Parks takes a big roll down Balls Hill. This was one of my favorite buggies of the weekend. He rolled it, landed back on the tires, and kept going!

This Red Single Seater buggy had one violent roll down Balls Hill. Look closely, did he hit his head on the cage? He was bouncing around in there like a rag doll.

Woody makes and amazing save while attempting to conquer the snow covered Horsepower Hill. I still do not know how he throttled out of that!

May Madness Event at Gray Rock ORV videos

Posted by: Matt | Comments (1)
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

There is just something about a rig bouncing off the rev limiter of it’s healthy V8 that gets your blood pumping. Good thing for you, Busted Knuckle Films was on hand to cover the wide open throttle action of the May Madness event put on by Central Alabama Offroad Society (CAOS) at Gray Rock ORV near Birmingham, Alabama. There was also a Brawl for All competition put on by Blue Torch Fabworks. BTF put up $1000 bucks to whoever made the quickest time around the course. Gary from Crazy Horse Kustoms ended up taking 1st place while doing a wheelie up one of the final obstacles. As if that wasn’t enough the owner of Bluetorch put up another $1000 bounty for the rig that could make it up the infamous Cable Hill the fastest. Cole Shirley driving his LS1 powered Jim’s Garage JK Buggy and Mike George driving his BTF fusion buggy were the only 2 drivers to make it up the obstacle and the times were too close to call. Then Cole went for another run and killed it with a 20sec run removing all doubt and grabbing the cash. The other participants in this put up or shut up event provided plenty of carnage. Blue Torch’s King of the Hammers Race Car grenaded the atlas transfer case on its full throttle attempt at the hill. The spider buggy broke the rear section of its frame in half after a rev limiter run. The Coleworx Highlighter buggy shredded ring and pinion in the front dana 60 while smoking the tires. But like Brain Cole says “If you are scared of breaking this aint the sport for you.” Be sure to watch the videos in High Definition (Double Click) below for some of the action that will be featured in our next Offroad DVD. All Videos were shot in 720p with a Panasonic HMC40 camera with a Rode Videomic.

The Busted Knuckle Films difference

Posted by: Matt | Comments (1)
Thursday, March 4th, 2010

At Busted Knuckle Films we like to do things a little different. We ask for feedback on what you like/dislike about the typical offroad DVD. We have done our research and are going against the grain. Our first offroad DVD “Southern Shenanigans” has over two years of footage packed into it. Just to give you a better idea of what we are working with.

First off, in our films you won’t hear a bunch of overpowering music. We love to hear a good built V8 scream and we know a lot of you do to. So we let the background music stay in the background so you can hear these healthy V8s come to life. We have good paced footage of some wild rigs making it up some heart-pounding obstacles, so you wont see us speeding up and muting the footage to try and compensate. You will also see a rig for more than a few seconds at a time. You will not however see a rig attempt an obstacle 10 times before it makes it either.

Like most of our viewers, we don’t have an unlimited rig budget so the vehicles in our films are mostly backyard budget built rigs. I know a eighty thousand dollar buggy can make it up that, the question is can a slightly modified F150 make it? If not, it sure will be fun to watch him try. We will bring you more “Run What ya Brung” type competitions so you can see how these budget built rigs do when bragging rights and a little cash are on the line.

Finally, BKF will bring you some of the most hilarious offroad/motorsports related Shenanigans you can dream of. You might want to tell your kids to make sure they do not try this at home before they watch it.

In the end it is the attention to what the viewer wants to see that sets Busted Knuckle Films apart from the rest. You will hear the chilling sound of motors bouncing off the rev limiter, you will see more budget built rigs that you could build in your own driveway, and you wont believe your eyes when you witness the Shenanigans that will keep you watching again and again.

We are always looking for feedback. Let us know what you think. CONTACT US.
